Can I study at University of Bradford and live in Leeds ?

I am going for a post graduate ( Msc ) at Bradford in September,and heard Bradford itself is not a really place to live. I would like to know if I can live in Leeds which is near, I need to know if this could work,how I would commute,and the amount of time by public transport. Thanks
